Jadeveon Clowney, DE/OLB: The team placed the franchise tag on Clowney. He was tagged as a linebacker, but because he received $1 million from the Texans last year to help make up for the difference between the fifth-year option for linebackers and defensive ends, he'll receive $15.967 million (120 percent of his salary in 2018, and more than the linebacker tag of $15.443 million), based on how tag figures are calculated.

Darren Fells, TE: Signed a one-year contract (details unreported), according to Garafolo.

Tashaun Gipson, S: Gipson signed with the Texans, the team announced.

Matt Kalil, OT: Kalil signed with the Texans, per Pelissero.

AJ McCarron, QB: Signed a deal to join the Texans (contract terms undisclosed), Rapoport reports.
