    A judge on Thursday blocked the NFL's plan to suspend Minnesota Vikings linemen Kevin Williams and Pat Williams for violating the league's anti-doping policy, a move their attorney said should let them start the season with camp beginning in just three weeks.

    Impacts: Hennepin County District Judge Gary Larson granted the players' request for a temporary restraining order that keeps the NFL from suspending them until their case is decided. The order also prohibits the league from subjecting them to extra drug testing.

    Dockett says he will report to training camp and not allow his contract issues to affect his performance this season. Dockett made the comments in a series of messages posted on his Twitter page Monday afternoon.

    Impacts: Dockett said he met recently with team officials and came away confident. Dockett has three years remaining on his contract, but wants a new deal. He didn't participate in the team's voluntary workout this summer. Dockett, along with wide receiver Anquan Boldin, sat out minicamp with what the two said were groin injuries.

  • Nevin McCaskill (T) New York Jets

    The Jets have signed McCaskill. The free agent from Hampton was signed to the Green Bay Packers' active roster last December and was inactive for three games. He was waived by the Packers last Monday.

    Impacts: The 6-foot-4, 300-pound lineman was signed as a free agent by Buffalo in July 2007 and spent time on the Bills' practice squad that season. He was in training camp last summer with Buffalo before being waived before the regular season.

  • Calvin Pace (OLB) New York Jets

    The NFL suspended Pace for four games without pay Thursday for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Pace will miss New York's first four games of the season and be eligible to return for the Monday night game at Miami on Oct. 12.

    Impacts: In a statement issued by the Jets, Pace said the ban is a result of him taking an over-the-counter dietary supplement that he was unaware violated the NFL's Pace, in his second season with the Jets, is eligible to participate in preseason practices and games. The suspension begins Sept. 5 and he can return to practice on Oct. 5, a day after New York's game at New Orleans.

    Bruschi said Tuesday he hasn't considered whether he'll keep playing after 2009, which will be his 14th season with the team. The linebacker commented at a one-day football camp he ran for 67 youngsters at Gillette Stadium.

    Impacts: He said that once he retires, he'd like to remain in football. And he said he knows he can coach. But he's not sure when he will stop playing. He said that once a player reaches 10 years in the NFL, it's best not to think beyond the upcoming season. Bruschi is coming off a season in which he often came off the field on third downs and had no sacks for the first time in his career.

  • Colin Brown (T) Kansas City Chiefs

    The Kansas City Chiefs have signed their fifth-round draft pick, offensive tackle Colin Brown. Terms were not disclosed Tuesday.

    Impacts: Brown earned Big 12 honors as a junior and senior at Missouri, which finished both of those seasons ranked in the top 10 nationally in total offense. The 6-foot-7-inch, 335-pound lineman played in 43 games for the Tigers, starting 28. He played in three bowl wins and two Big 12 championship games.

  • LeSean McCoy (RB) Philadelphia Eagles

    The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with McCoy, their second-round draft choice, according to his agent.

    Impacts: Drew Rosenhaus announced the signing on his Twitter page Monday night. The running back from Pittsburgh, taken by Philadelphia with the 53rd overall selection, is the first second-round pick to sign. McCoy, who provides insurance behind the dynamic but injury prone Brian Westbrook, rushed for 2,816 yards and 35 TDs, and caught 65 passes for 549 yards and one score in two seasons at Pitt. He ran for 1,488 yards and 21 TDs last year.

  • Mike Fladell (G) New York Giants

    The New York Jets have claimed Fladell off waivers from the Giants.

    Impacts: Fladell was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent to the Giants' practice squad last December, and was waived last Wednesday. The 6-foot-7, 334-pound New York native played at Rutgers from 2003-07, and started his last two seasons with the Scarlet Knights.

  • Kraig Urbik (G) Pittsburgh Steelers

    Urbik, the first of the Pittsburgh Steelers' three third-round draft picks, has signed a three-year contract.

    Impacts: The 6-foot-5, 328-pound Urbik played both right guard and right tackle at Wisconsin, making 50 starts. He is expected to play right guard for Pittsburgh, competing with starter Darnell Stapleton and backup Trai Essex.

  • Zach Miller (TE) Jacksonville Jaguars

    The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed Miller.

    Impacts: Miller, a sixth-round pick in April's NFL draft, signed his contract Monday, becoming the team's first rookie to do so. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Miller played quarterback at Nebraska-Omaha, where he threw for 4,096 yards and 26 touchdowns while rushing for 3,122 yards and a school-record 50 touchdowns in four seasons.

  • Mario Urrutia (WR) New York Jets

    The New York Jets have claimed Urrutia off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals.

    Impacts: Urrutia was a seventh-round draft pick by the Bengals last year and spent the season on the practice squad. He had 130 catches for 2,271 yards and 16 touchdowns during his college career at Louisville.
