Jason McCourty signs $43M extension with Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans locked up cornerback Jason McCourty to a five-year contract extension Thursday.

McCourty's deal is worth $43 million in new money with $20 million in guarantees and bonuses. The deal folds in a $1.26 million base for this year, bringing the total to $44.3 million over next six years. Another $3 million in escalators brings max to $47.3 million, a source with knowledge of the situation said.

McCourty started 15 games for the Titans last season, finishing with two interceptions, 52 tackle and a sack in his season as a full-time starter. The Titans selected McCourty in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
