Giants' 100th season to begin on offseason 'Hard Knocks'

One of the NFL's most storied franchises will make its Hard Knocks debut this year.

The New York Giants will star in Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants, a new spin on the annual series, HBO, NFL Films and Skydance Sports announced on Wednesday.

Hard Knocks will feature the Giants for the first time since the series' debut in 2001 as the four-time Super Bowl-winning franchise prepares for its 100th season. This will also be the first iteration of Hard Knocks to document the NFL offseason, chronicling Big Blue's moves from January to July.

The five-episode season debuts on Tuesday, July 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max, with new episodes debuting subsequent Tuesdays through July 30.

Hard Knocks has been in New York twice before with the Jets in 2010 and 2023 and has also dipped into the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys (2002, 2008, 2021), but as Big Blue approaches its centennial season, it will take center stage.

There are storylines aplenty in Gotham as the Giants approach the 2024 campaign without running back Saquon Barkley on the roster for the first time since 2017. Daniel Jones remains, but New York's QB1 is coming back from a torn ACL. Hard Knocks should also give an up-close look at general manager Joe Schoen and his front office, leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft and the selection of wide receiver Malik Nabers at No. 6 overall.

It's a pivotal season ahead for head coach Brian Daboll as the Giants aim to rebound from a 6-11 2023 showing, and the beginning stages of a hopeful turnaround will air weekly through the summer on Hard Knocks.
