Dear, Dallas Cowboys bulletin board -- meet Brandon Jacobs.
Jacobs put an end to Tony Romo's brief respite from life under the microscope when the New York Giants running back was asked who was better: the Cowboys' beleaguered quarterback or his guy, Eli Manning.
Jacobs didn't hold back in picking Manning.
"He's definitely a 100% better quarterback than Tony Romo. No question," Jacobs told USA TODAY last week, days before Manning tossed three interceptions in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Behind Romo -- and maybe Chicago's Jay Cutler -- Eli Manning remains one of the game's most scrutinized passers.Â
Despite leading the Giants to four playoff appearances, Manning's had trouble escaping the far-reaching shadow of his older brother, Peyton, but Jacobs could care less about all that.
"To be honest with you, I could give a damn, or give a (expletive) if people respect Eli or not," he said. "As long as he keeps coming out there throwing that rock and getting us in situations where we can win games."
This is a case of a player touting his own embattled passer.Â
Eli's Super Bowl XLII victory hasn't fully erased doubts about his ability to get the Giants back to another championship, so what would Romo need to do to silence his doubters? End world hunger? Heal the sick? Move into Troy Aikman's house? Hard to envision a time when Romo won't be under the lights, picked apart by onlookers, none of them in his shoes.
