NFL Network: Packers TE Tucker Kraft agrees to 4-year, $75M extension right before Week 1

Tucker Kraft’s 2025 season was cut short, but he’s most certainly in the Green Bay Packers’ long-term plans.

Kraft and the Packers have agreed to terms on a four-year, $75 million contract extension through 2030 that can be worth up to $92 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday.

Rapoport added that Kraft received a $26.5 million signing bonus in the deal -- struck just a day before Green Bay's Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers have since announced extending Kraft.

It's the latest extension doled out by the Packers, with general manager Brian Gutekunst having clearly identified the core players on the squad he wants to build around.

Green Bay’s offseason has seen its share of departures, such as wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, but the Packers have locked up cornerstone players on both sides of the ball. Kraft follows Jayden Reed and Christian Watson as offensive players who have recently received new contracts, while linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt also earned extensions.

Following news of Wyatt's extension on July 20, Rapoport said Kraft could be next up in the extension line. That's proved to be true as Green Bay has taken on a bit of a different connotation of late.

Kraft's new deal comes with ample uncertainty as he's coming back from a torn ACL that cut a sterling 2025 campaign short.

The 25-year-old is good to go in Week 1 without restrictions, and Green Bay is clearly confident enough in his health to make a lucrative investment.

A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Kraft emerged in his second season, recording 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

In 2025, though, Kraft was off to a scintillating start, right along with the Packers.

Over the first seven games of the season, Green Bay was 5-1-1 with Kraft posting 30 catches, 469 yards and six TDs, his run-after-the-catch ability something to behold right along with his chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love. He was injured in a Week 9 upset loss to the Carolina Panthers, and Love and the Packers offense were clearly hindered by his absence for the remainder of the season.

Packers brass is banking on being buoyed by Kraft's return in 2026 and beyond.
