Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) exits early in win over Cowboys

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was ruled out early in Sunday's 49-38 win over the Cowboys.

In the first quarter, Chubb was pass-blocking on a play where a Cowboys defender was pushed into his legs behind him. Chubb clutched his knee in pain but walked off the field under his own power.

Chubb's day ended after that play with six rushes for 43 yards.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters after the game that Chubb would undergo an MRI exam Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

Kareem Hunt assumed the role of Browns featured back upon Chubb's exit and proceeded to find the end zone twice and rush for 71 yards in the shootout.

Chubb is off to a hot start to the 2020 season with 51 rushes for 292 yards and four touchdowns (averaging 5.7 yards per carry). While the Browns do have a serviceable backup in his place, Chubb is an essential piece to an offense that has scored 34-plus points in three consecutive games.
