2019 Fantasy Football 12-team Mock Draft

With the turn of the calendar to July and training camps starting soon, the fantasy football chatter is hotter than the new Spider-man movie. Who will be the biggest bust? Who will make the biggest rookie impact? Which player's value is on the rise? Knowledge is power, of course, and knowing which players to draft and when to draft them is paramount to your championship hopes. So is practicing your strategies, and you can do that right here at NFL.com with our online mock drafts.

Before you dive into your own mock draft madness, check out our first NFL.com experts draft for the 2019 season. The draft includes NFL.com folks including myself, Marcas Grant, Graham Barfield and Michael Florio, and some of our industry pals including Bob Harris (Football Diehards), Jake Ciely (The Athletic), Jeff Ratcliffe (Pro Football Focus), Liz Loza (Yahoo! Sports), Evan Silva (EstablishTheRun.com), Jamey Eisenberg (CBS Sports), Scott Engel (RotoBaller), and J.J. Zachariason (FanDuel). It's a 16-rounder and based on a PPR scoring system that rewards four points for touchdown passes and six points for all other touchdowns.

Starting lineups require one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, one flex (RB/WR/TE), one kicker and one defense/special teams units. There are no positional restrictions on bench players. I've also added a few notes on some of the more interesting picks and trends that I saw during the course of the mock, including some thoughts on my own picks (good or bad). Enjoy!

Round 1

1. Loza:Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys
2. Grant:Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants
3. Barfield:Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
4. Harris:Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers
5. Silva:David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
6. Ratcliffe:Le'Veon Bell, RB, New York Jets
7. Engel:Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers
8. Eisenberg:DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans
9. Zachariason:Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
10. Fabiano:Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
11. Florio:Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams
12. Ciely:James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Notes: Another mock, another first rounded loaded with running backs (this one started with Zeke, not Saquon). That's right, a total of 10 runners went in the first 12 picks, though there were two wide receivers (Adams, Hopkins) who went in the top eight. This is the first mock where I've seen Adams go ahead of Nuk, but it's not a massive surprise considering that Adams was one of the most productive and consistent fantasy wideouts from a season ago. As for the Gurley watch, he went in the first round here. This is the highest I have seen him picked in the last month of doing mocks.

Round 2

13. Ciely:Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints
14. Florio:Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Cleveland Browns
15. Fabiano:Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
16. Zachariason:Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
17. Eisenberg:JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
18. Engel:Damien Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
19. Ratcliffe:Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings
20. Silva:Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns
21. Harris:Antonio Brown, WR, Oakland Raiders
22. Barfield:Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
23. Grant:George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
24. Loza:Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Notes: The second round started off chalk with the likes of Thomas, OBJ, Jones, and Kelce coming off the board. Then things got a bit interesting. Smith-Schuster went ahead of his former teammate, Brown, which wasn't a huge surprise, but Williams went higher than I've seen him picked in previous mocks. He's now a typical top-30 pick in most PPR formats. I was also surprised to see Kittle go this high. I get it, he was awesome a season ago ... but can he duplicate what was likely his "magical" season? We'll see. This was also the highest I've seen Mack picked, but his stock is definitely rising.

Round 3

25. Loza:A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
26. Grant:Adam Thielen, WR, Minnesota Vikings
27. Barfield:Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
28. Harris:Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
29. Silva:Stefon Diggs, WR, Minnesota Vikings
30. Ratcliffe:T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts
31. Engel:Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys
32. Eisenberg:Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
33. Zachariason:Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
34. Fabiano:Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots
35. Florio:Josh Jacobs, RB, Oakland Raiders
36. Ciely:Kerryon Johnson, RB, Detroit Lions

Notes: The third round of mocks has almost always featured two potential draft bargains ... Green and Fournette. This mock was no different. Wide receiver was the main position picked in this round, and there were no real surprises. (Yes, Edelman is worth a third rounder in 12-team PPR leagues). Henry might be a bit of a surprise based on his lack of pass-catching chops, but his high touchdown potential is hard to pass on. Jacobs and Johnson are going close to one another in mocks, and both are now borderline third or fourth rounders as projected No. 2 backs in 12-team formats.

Round 4

37. Ciely:Brandin Cooks, WR, Los Angeles Rams
38. Florio:Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
39. Fabiano:Mark Ingram, RB, Baltimore Ravens
40. Zachariason:Devonta Freeman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
41. Eisenberg:David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears
42. Engel:Robert Woods, WR, Los Angeles Rams
43. Ratcliffe:Kenny Golladay, WR, Detroit Lions
44. Silva:Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
45. Harris:Sony Michel, RB, New England Patriots
46. Barfield:Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
47. Grant:Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks
48. Loza:Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Notes: Admittedly, I erred in this round. It's what happens when you have dad duty while you're trying to draft ... I should have taken Freeman and not Ingram, but I missed him on the list of available players. My bad. The hype is starting to build around Montgomery, so you might have to use a fourth or fifth rounder if you want to land him. Mahomes going in the fourth round makes sense, as he's the clear cut No. 1 fantasy quarterback in the league. News that Michel's knee is fine helped his stock in this mock, and the continued rise of Godwin has pushed him into the fourth round in some industry mocks.

Round 5

49. Loza:O.J. Howard, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
50. Grant:Phillip Lindsay, RB, Denver Broncos
51. Barfield:Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
52. Harris:D.J. Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers
53. Silva:Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
54. Ratcliffe:Derrius Guice, WR, Washington Redskins
55. Engel:Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami Dolphins
56. Eisenberg:James White, RB, New England Patriots
57. Zachariason:Sammy Watkins, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
58. Fabiano:Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks
59. Florio:Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
60. Ciely:Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Notes: The top three tight ends are a lock, but the fourth is between Howard and Hunter Henry. Howard took the fourth spot in this mock. Kupp was the third of the three Rams wideouts off the board. Moore, a popular sleeper/breakout candidate is moving on up. The same goes for Hill, who wasn't being drafted until after the eighth round in earlier offseason mocks. Now he's moved back into the top five rounds. Interestingly, Watkins was picked just four picks later. Guice is a definite sleeper/breakout in Washington's backfield, but this is the highest I've seen him picked. His ADP on Fantasy Football Calculator is Round 6 (No. 68 overall), so this is higher than the normal range.

Round 6

61. Ciely:Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
62. Florio:Hunter Henry, TE, Los Angeles Chargers
63. Fabiano:Alshon Jeffery, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
64. Zachariason:Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears
65. Eisenberg:Tevin Coleman, RB, San Francisco 49ers
66. Engel:Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts
67. Ratcliffe:Deshaun Watson, QB, Houston Texans
68. Silva:Tarik Cohen, RB, Chicago Bears
69. Harris:Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets
70. Barfield:Evan Engram, TE, New York Giants
71. Grant:Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals
72. Loza:Lamar Miller, RB, Houston Texans

Notes: Hello, Los Angeles! This round started with a pair of Chargers in Henry and Williams, who are both breakout candidates. Luck and Watson are going within a couple picks of each other in a ton of mocks, and this one was no different. Cohen could turn into a great value pick in this PPR format, and Anderson's stock continues to rise (though I'd project him as more of a seventh rounder). Maybe the biggest surprise of the round was Kirk, who was picked ahead of teammate Larry Fitzgerald and a number of veteran receivers with strong resumes. He's a strong sleeper choice, regardless.

Round 7

73. Loza:Dante Pettis, WR, San Francisco 49ers
74. Grant:Jordan Howard, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
75. Barfield:Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams
76. Harris:LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills
77. Silva:Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans
78. Ratcliffe:Jared Cook, TE, New Orleans Saints
79. Engel:Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks
80. Eisenberg:Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
81. Zachariason:Jarvis Landry, WR, Cleveland Browns
82. Fabiano:Marvin Jones, WR, Detroit Lions
83. Florio:Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants
84. Ciely:Latavius Murray, RB, New Orleans Saints

Notes: Pettis is rising as a fantasy sleeper. He could push for WR2 value this season as the top wideout in San Francisco. The hype around Henderson isn't slowing down. In fact, he's now being picked in the seventh round almost across the board. He's a boom or bust pick. I get that Landry's stock is falling due to the presence of OBJ, but I still love the value here as a seventh rounder. The same goes for Marvin Jones. The biggest surprise for me was Ronald Jones, who hasn't been more than ninth-rounder in a lot of mocks I've seen but went inside the top 80 overall selections.

Round 8

85. Ciely:Will Fuller, WR, Houston Texans
86. Florio:N'Keal Harry, WR, New England Patriots
87. Fabiano:Dion Lewis, RB, Tennessee Titans
88. Zachariason:Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona Cardinals
89. Eisenberg:Curtis Samuel, WR, Carolina Panthers
90. Engel:Geronimo Allison, WR, Green Bay Packers
91. Ratcliffe:Royce Freeman, RB, Denver Broncos
92. Silva:Vance McDonald, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
93. Harris:Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos
94. Barfield:Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
95. Grant:Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks
96. Loza:Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns

Notes: Harry is the first rookie wideout to come off the board, which is par for the course in most mocks. The debate between Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling rages on, but the former went first between the two in this draft (albeit just one round ahead). I'm digging on Samuel, McDonald and Sutton as nice middle- to late-round values. The end of the round saw a quarterbacks run, with Rodgers, Wilson and the breakout candidate Mayfield coming off the board in succession.

Round 9

97. Loza:Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Green Bay Packers
98. Grant:James Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
99. Barfield:Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
100. Harris:D'Onta Foreman, RB, Houston Texans
101. Silva:Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns
102. Ratcliffe:Golden Tate, WR, New York Giants
103. Engel:D.K. Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
104. Eisenberg:Eric Ebron, TE, Indianapolis Colts
105. Zachariason:Keke Coutee, WR, Houston Texans
106. Fabiano:David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns
107. Florio:DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Denver Broncos
108. Ciely:DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Notes: This round is loaded with sleepers (not a shock), including a bunch that I like in Washington, Westbrook, Foreman, Coutee and Hamilton. Ebron is almost guaranteed to see touchdown regression, but he could still be a nice bargain for Eisenberg in this round because the position gets thin.

Round 10

109. Ciely:Austin Hooper, TE, Atlanta Falcons
110. Florio:Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills
111. Fabiano:Peyton Barber, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
112. Zachariason:Damien Harris, RB, New England Patriots
113. Eisenberg:Jerick McKinnon, RB, San Francisco 49ers
114. Engel:Trey Burton, TE, Chicago Bears
115. Ratcliffe:Anthony Miller, WR, Chicago Bears
116. Silva:Greg Zuerlein, K, Los Angeles Rams
117. Harris:Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons
118. Barfield:Mecole Hardman, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
119. Grant:Donte Moncrief, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
120. Loza:Ito Smith, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Notes: The Bills backfield is one to avoid if possible, but I'm seeing Singletary go second behind McCoy and ahead of Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon in most mocks. Youth and upside, my friends! This is the biggest gap I've seen between the Bucs backs, and in some cases, it's Barber going ahead of Jones. Not here. Harris is an interesting flier, as he could push Michel for touches in New England. You also have to like the value of getting Ryan in the tenth round after the solid 2018 campaign he had. Hardman was the second rookie wideout picked. I am also seeing more hype around Moncrief, who has impressed in the offseason. He could be a tremendous bargain in best-ball formats.

Round 11

121. Loza:Josh Gordon, WR, New England Patriots
122. Grant:Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins
123. Barfield:Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
124. Harris:Devin Funchess, WR, Indianapolis Colts
125. Silva:Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos
126. Ratcliffe:Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys
127. Engel:Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings
128. Eisenberg:Carlos Hyde, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
129. Zachariason:Tre'Quan Smith, WR, New Orleans Saints
130. Fabiano:John Brown, WR, Buffalo Bills
131. Florio:Duke Johnson, RB, Clevleand Browns
132. Ciely:Adrian Peterson, RB, Washington Redskins

Notes: Loza made what could be a great move in grabbing Gordon at this stage. Why not take a chance that he'll play at some point in 2019? Sanders was the third of the three draftable Broncos wideouts, which isn't a huge surprise coming off an Achilles ailment. He could move up in future mocks based on his work in training camp. While most project Peterson as the starting running back in Washington (at least in Week 1), he continues to go several rounds behind Guice.

Round 12

133. Ciely:Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
134. Florio:Robert Foster, WR, Buffalo Bills
135. Fabiano:Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
136. Zachariason:Jaylen Samuels, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
137. Eisenberg:Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals
138. Engel:Mike Davis, RB, Chicago Bears
139. Ratcliffe:Chicago Bears defense
140. Silva:Baltimore Ravens defense
141. Harris:Nyheim Hines, RB, Indianapolis Colts
142. Barfield:Parris Campbell, WR, Indianapolis Colts
143. Grant:Marquise Goodwin, WR, San Francisco 49ers
144. LozaGreg Olsen, TE, Carolina Panthers

Notes: The fact that Wentz and Newton went this late just begs the question ... why would you not wait to draft a quarterback if you don't get one of the top four? The fact that Murray is going in the same round as that duo speaks volumes about how highly he's thought of in the fantasy football industry. I say he's the real deal. This round also saw the first two defenses (Bears, Ravens) off the board.

Round 13

145. Loza:Willie Snead, WR, Baltimore Ravens
146. Grant:Marquise Brown, WR, Baltimore Ravens
147. Barfield:Matt Breida, RB, San Francisco 49ers
148. Harris:DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins
149. Silva:Justice Hill, RB, Baltimore Ravens
150. Ratcliffe:Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints
151. Engel:Noah Fant, TE, Denver Broncos
152. Eisenberg:Andy Isabella, WR, Arizona Cardinals
153. Zachariason:Kenny Stills, WR, Miami Dolphins
154. Fabiano:Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans
155. Florio:Trey Quinn, WR, Washington Redskins
156. Ciely:Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Notes: It took 145 picks, but the first Ravens wideout came off the board in Round 13 ... and it wasn't Brown. He went one pick behind his teammate, Snead. Yup, a rookie back named Justice went ahead of Brees. Man, quarterbacks are so de-valued! One deep sleeper I like in this range is Quinn. He showed some flashes at the end of last season and should see a bump in target share in 2019.

Round 14

157. Ciely:Ryquell Armstead, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
158. Florio:Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
159. Fabiano:Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
160. Zachariason:Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
161. Eisenberg:Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
162. Engel:Mason Crosby, K, Green Bay Packers
163. Ratcliffe:Justin Tucker, K, Baltimore Ravens
164. Silva:Demarcus Robinson, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
165. Harris:Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings
166. Barfield:Los Angeles Chargers defense
167. Grant:Los Angeles Rams defense
168. Loza:Jacksonville Jaguars defense

Notes: This round included a big run on quarterbacks, with Goff, Winston, Jackson, Prescott, and Cousins all going within eight picks of each other. At this point, it's like stealing, friends. We also saw a run on defense, including the two from Southern California and a bounce-back unit in the Jaguars.

Round 15

169. Loza:Harrison Butker, K, Kansas City Chiefs
170. Grant:Wil Lutz, K, New Orleans Saints
171. Barfield: Stephen Gostokwski, K, New England Patriots
172. Harris:Houston Texans defense
173. Silva:Darwin Thompson, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
174. Ratcliffe:Tyrell Williams, WR, Oakland Raiders
175. Engel:Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
176. Eisenberg:Minnesota Vikings defense
177. Zachariason:Philadelphia Eagles defense
178. Fabiano:New England Patriots defense
179. Florio:Kyle Rudolph, TE, Minnesota Vikings
180. Ciely:New Orleans Saints defense

Notes: Kickers and defenses. Nothing too sexy here, though I did find it interesting that Silva took a flier on Thompson. It is an Andy Reid backfield, after all, so I think it's a worthwhile grab.

Round 16

181. Ciely:Mike Badgley, K, Los Angeles Chargers
182. Florio:Cleveland Browns defense
183. Fabiano:Ka'imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans
184. Zachariason:Adam Vinatieri, K, Indianapolis Colts
185. Eisenberg:Chris Herndon, TE, New York Jets
186. Engel:C.J. Anderson, RB, Detroit Lions
187. Ratcliffe:Jake Elliott, K, Philadelphia Eagles
188. Silva:Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
189. Harris:Giorgio Tavecchio, K, Atlanta Falcons
190. Barfield:Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins
191. Grant:KeeSean Johnson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
192. Loza:Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals

Notes: The last round of a fantasy football draft is about as interesting as that new Netflix movie "Mystery Murder." (Don't watch it, it sucked). Two of the picks in the round that didn't suck (that weren't kickers or defenses) were Herndon and Goedert. Good values.
