Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Running back Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins is the PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on December 6-10, the NFL announced today.

Morris rushed for 122 yards on 23 carries and scored one touchdown in the Redskins' 31-28 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Morris was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com/rookies. The other finalists were wide receiver Travis Benjamin of the Cleveland Browns, quarterback NIck Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles, safety Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings and running back David Wilson of the New York Giants.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual "NFL Honors" awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.

This is Pepsi's eleventh year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the eleventh year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.


Travis Benjamin, Cleveland Browns

Benjamin scored on a 93-yard punt return in the second quarter as the Browns beat the Kansas Chiefs, 30-7.

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles

Foles completed 32 of 51 passes for 381 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 23-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins

Morris rushed for 122 yards on 23 carries and scored one touchdown in the Redskins' 31-28 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Harrison Smith, Minnesota Vikings

Smith recorded six total tackles and one interception which he returned 56 yards for a touchdown in the Vikings' 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears.

David Wilson, New York Giants

Wilson gained 100 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground. He also accounted for 227 kick-return yards, including a 97-yard touchdown return as the Giants beat the New Orleans Saints, 52-27.
