NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT NOMINEES
Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Peterson powers Vikings to overtime win: A week after playing to a tie against the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings came close to becoming the first team since 1971 to play back-to-back ties. Instead, running back Adrian Peterson helped set up kicker Blair Walsh's game-winning 34-yard field goal for a 23-20 win. Walsh's initial field goal attempt of overtime was nullified by a penalty, and a second attempt from 57 yards out was not successful. Peterson surpassed the 10,000-yard rushing mark for his career after going for 211 yards against the Bears.
Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
Patriots' Gostkowski boots two long field goals late in win: The Houston Texans built a 10-0 lead and then traded the lead five times with the Patriots in a wild second half that was finally decided on a 53-yard field goal by kicker Stephen Gostkowski. It was the second of two successful 53-yard attempts for Gostkowski as the Patriots tied the game and then won it, 34-31. Quarterback Tom Brady threw for two touchdowns in the win.
William Moore, Atlanta Falcons
Moore's forced fumble helps Falcons end skid: Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore set up the decisive score by forcing a fumble on the Buffalo Bills' first possession of overtime. The play helped the Falcons prevail in the back-and-forth tussle in Toronto, 34-31, on kicker Matt Bryant's 36-yard field goal. It was the Falcons' first road win this season.
