Jeremiah: Leonard Williams still No. 1; Randy Gregory now No. 6

Leonard Williams survived at the top of NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah's latest Top 50 list of the NFL draft's top prospects, but Nebraska's Randy Gregory slipped out of the top five following the NFL Scouting Combine.

Williams ran an impressive 4.97 at 300 pounds at the combine, and Jeremiah said technique is one thing that separates him from other defensive linemen and helps make him the draft's top overall prospect.

"To me, it's the use of his hands, and this is something you don't see coached up as well in college anymore, guys that keep blockers off their chest," Jeremiah said on NFL Network's "Path to the Draft." "He's got excellent length, and he uses that length to keep his chest clean. He's able to lock out blocks, shed blocks and then make plays."

Gregory weighed just 235 pounds at the combine, and Jeremiah discounted the possibility that Gregory could develop into a right defensive end in a 4-3 defense, saying he will be a far better fit in a 3-4. Still, Jeremiah has Gregory ranked the No. 6 overall prospect in the draft and spoke to his diversity as a pass rusher on PTD.

"Randy Gregory is probably the most polished pass rusher in terms of being able to win in a multitude of ways," Jeremiah said. "He can beat you with speed outside, he can cross your face with a counter move, and even though he's light -- he weighed in at 235 pounds -- he does have some snap and some power."

While Gregory slipped a bit in the top 50, West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White moved into the No. 2 spot after running a blazing time of 4.35 in the 40-yard dash at the combine. Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper now ranks No. 3, while Florida defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. and FSU quarterback Jameis Winston complete the top five.

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota jumped five spots, from No. 12 to No. 7.
