Six plays that explain Week 5

Demaryius Thomas is back. After struggling through a foot injury early in the season, the Broncos wide receiver showed his difference-making speed when he pulled away from Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson on this 86-yard catch-and-run. Thomas had more yards through two quarters Sunday than his first three games combined. -- Chris Wesseling

No one play defined Cleveland's 25-point comeback against the Titans -- the largest by a road team in NFL history. The Browns made their share of mistakes and saw key penalties go their way, but credit goes to the written-off Brian Hoyer for overcoming a few head-scratching throws to hit Travis Benjamin on a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown strikes. His second of those passes put Cleveland ahead for good. -- Marc Sessler

The Atlanta Falcons' offensive line held up relatively well in New York, but coach Mike Smith had no faith in his running game when it mattered. This fourth down failure sealed the game and brought back memories of the team's short-yardage woes in New Jersey during the 2011 playoffs. -- Gregg Rosenthal

Cam Newton has quietly enjoyed the most consistent month as a passer of his career. He was throwing darts on Sunday against Chicago, and pulled double duty as the team's best run-blocker. *-- Gregg Rosenthal *

When Tony Romo needed a big play in overtime on Sunday, he knew where to go. The quarterback aired it downfield to Dez Bryant, who out-jumped Johnathan Joseph and then pulled down the highly contested pass with one hand to put Dallas into field-goal range. Three plays later, Dan Bailey drilled the game-winning field goal. Dez's catch was the play of the game, saving Dallas from another late-game collapse. *-- Gregg Rosenthal *

Kyle Orton did what EJ Manuel couldn't do for weeks: stretch the field. Along with his nearly 70 percent completion percentage, Orton wasn't afraid to push the ball down the field. Sammy Watkins was the beneficiary most of the game, but this perfectly thrown ball to Marquise Goodwin set up the tying touchdown. Manuel doesn't make that throw. -- Kevin Patra
