Report: LeGarrette Blount on Baltimore Ravens' radar

LeGarrette Blount is slated to meet with the Steelers on Sunday night, but Pittsburgh isn't the only team lurking around the former New England Patriots running back.

Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun reported Friday that the Ravens"also have interest" in the runner and plan to monitor his market as free agency heads into its third week.

Wilson also was told that the Patriots have kept an open dialogue with Blount. On Friday's "Around The League Podcast," we suggested that a return to New England makes the most sense for the 27-year-old bruiser.

Baltimore is an odd fit with Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce already on the roster, but Blount would give the Ravens a proven fill-in if Rice is suspended for his February arrest at an Atlantic City casino.

Blount was a revelation down the stretch for the Patriots, grinding out yardage and forcing defenses to pay attention to New England's punishing ground attack. That wasn't the case in Baltimore, where Rice plodded to the tune of 3.1 yards per carry while Pierce was kept to 2.9.

If the Ravens are serious about Blount, one of Baltimore's duo of runners would be in for a reduced workload.

(Update: The National Football Post reported Saturday that Blount's meeting with the Steelers was rescheduled for Friday, after this weekend's NFL Annual Meeting, so that Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin can attend.)
