The St. Louis Rams have given second-year wide receiver Danny Amendola an exclusive-rights tender, meaning the team will retain his rights in the event of an NFL lockout, the *St. Louis Post-Dispatch* reported Thursday .
The Rams have yet to confirm the story, but acknowledged the newspaper's report via Twitter.
Amendola pulled in 85 passes for 689 yards and three touchdowns last season as part of a young Rams offense. Another target, wide receiver Laurent Robinson -- along with linebacker Chris Chamberlain, offensive guard John Greco, cornerback Justin King and linebacker David Vobora -- were tendered at their original draft position levels, according to the report.
The Post-Dispatch reported that the team also gave defensive end C.J. Ah You and linebacker Larry Grant exclusive-rights tenders, but did not tender cornerback Quincy Butler, running back Kenneth Darby or linebacker Curtis Johnson. All three will become unrestricted free agents.
Defensive tackle Gary Gibson, tight end Daniel Fells and offensive tackle Renardo Foster were tendered at a right-of-first-refusal-level, meaning the team can match any offer made to these undrafted players but would not receive draft picks if they fail to match.
There's a good chance that many of these tenders won't be valid once a new collective bargaining agreement is reached.
