Saints re-sign Parys Haralson to one-year deal

The New Orleans Saints are bringing back Parys Haralson for another spin.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the outside linebacker has agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to a source who spoke with Haralson. The nine-year veteran was set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Haralson started 12 games for the Saints last season, piling up three sacks and playing well against the run. Operating as a strong-side defender, his lack of pass rush means the 31-year-old linebacker will enter camp in a competition for his job.

It's not an earth-shattering deal for the Saints, but keeps a familiar face close to home. New Orleans, though, must add more firepower to improve a unit that finished as the second worst defense in the NFL last season.
