Ndamukong Suh wearing No. 93, just like Gerald McCoy

No. 93 will still be the centerpiece of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive line.

Throughout college and his pro career, Ndamukong Suh has donned a No. 93 jersey and that's not changing with the Bucs as the recently signed free agent is listed on the team roster with the number.

It just so happens to be the number that Gerald McCoy, whom the Bucs recently released and is signing with the Carolina Panthers, wore during his Tampa Bay days.

While Suh insisted he isn't taking McCoy's spot, taking the number McCoy previously wore is certainly a different story.

Just as the Bucs replaced the 2010 No. 3 pick (McCoy) with the 2010 No. 2 pick (Suh), they're also hoping to improve upon their team success.

Perhaps that starts with Suh, who helped the Rams reach the Super Bowl a season ago.

While McCoy earned six straight Pro Bowl bids (a streak halted last year), Tampa Bay never advanced to the postseason in his nine-year stay there.

Suh's hoping to change all that.
