Jenkins: Eagles' locker room has Sam Bradford's back

Sam Bradford has come under fire for skipping the start of the Eagles' offseason program and trying to facilitate a trade to Denver last month.

After Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennettquestioned whether teammates would want to play with Bradford, it was natural to wonder if Eagles players harbor ill feelings toward their No. 1 quarterback.

That's not the case in Philadelphia, Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins insisted on Thursday's appearance of NFL Total Access.

"I think everybody -- in the locker room at least -- is very excited and confident having Sam as our quarterback for this season," Jenkins told NFL Network's Lindsay Rhodes. "I think everybody is looking to see what Carson (Wentz) can do, and so far, he's been playing really well the two weeks he's been here. We can definitely see that potential in him.

"But I think right now, barring anything crazy or anything changing over the next few months, I think everybody is very comfortable with Sam and looking forward to him falling into that role."

Jenkins conceded that "most of the locker room" wanted Bradford in the building rather than missing workouts, but players understand that Bradford had to secure his future and take care of his business interests -- just as the organization does.

Asked if there is a possibility of a carry-over effect throughout the season, Jenkins expressed the belief that the locker room isn't hung up on the quarterback drama.

"I think we're all back to work," Jenkins said. "He came back in time for OTAs when we were doing football stuff anyways, so really the only thing he missed were a few workouts."

Bradford will maintain locker room support -- not to mention the top spot on the depth chart -- as long as he outplays Wentz and Chase Daniel in August and wins games in September and October.
