Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) has successful surgery

The Cowboys' claim that Dez Bryant's foot surgery would not affect his offseason seems to be on track.

Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Bryant had successful surgery on his foot and ankle in New York on Wednesday morning. Bryant was shut down by the Cowboys for the final two games of the season after it became apparent that his foot and ankle were not completely fine. Bryant missed a large portion of the season after breaking that same foot in the season-opener.

In all, this was a lost season for the Cowboys despite a wide open NFC East. Owner Jerry Jones pushed his star players like Tony Romo and Bryant to the limit in the hopes of chasing the playoffs, but ended up watching both of them suffer further injuries.

Luckily for Jones, Bryant wasted no time getting the surgery.
