An injury has once again moved DeMarco Murray out of the Dallas Cowboys' lineup. There are differing opinions on how long the running back will be absent.
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, the Cowboys are concerned Murray's sprained foot could result in "multi-game absence." However, Murray has told teammates he will play in Week 8 against the New York Giants.

Murray suffered ligament damage in his foot in the third quarter of Dallas' 31-29 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The second-year player avoided a Lisfranc injury, which would've ended his season. He won't play in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers.
It's not unusual for a player to have a shorter timetable than his team (think back to Ryan Mathews after he broke his clavicle in the preseason). So while it's possible Murray could miss just one game with his latest injury, don't count on it.
Murray's absence gives former first-round pick Felix Jones a golden opportunity to contribute to the offense. Jones can also help himself -- he's a free agent at the end of the season.
