Report: DeMarco Murray out in Week 7 with foot injury

The Dallas Cowboys made a concerted effort to focus their Sunday game plan around DeMarco Murray. Now it looks like they'll be forced to survive without him for the time being.

Darlington: 'Boys clinging to hope

Jerry Jones has faith in the Cowboys, Jeff Darlington reports, even if something seems to be seriously off with the team. **More ...**

ESPNDallas.com reported Monday that the Cowboys fear Murray suffered ligament damage in his left foot during the Cowboys' 31-29 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Murray does not have a potentially season-ending Lisfranc injury, according to sources.

X-rays on the running back came back negative, but results of an MRI exam Monday morning have not been revealed.

Murray will not play this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Murray was having a big day against the Baltimore defense before leaving the game early in the third quarter. He finished with 14 carries for 93 yards.

If Murray is forced to miss time, Felix Jones should get another opportunity to carry the load for the Cowboys. Murray took the starting job from Jones during his breakout rookie season before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Week 14.
