D.J. Hayden in danger of losing Raiders starting CB job

Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper inspire plenty of confidence as Oakland Raidersbuilding blocks and future stars.

Can the same be said of 2013 first-round draft pick D.J. Hayden?

Although Hayden closed out last year as a full-time player, he's not guaranteed to open the 2015 season as a starting cornerback.

The new coaching staff had Hayden working with the second-team for much of the offseason, per ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, while 2014 fourth-round pick Keith McGill played opposite T.J. Carrie with the first unit.

Williamson stresses that it's a "fluid situation," but McGill will have the edge entering training camp.

Hayden's failure to develop into a frontline starter is disappointing news for a defense that lacks young standout talents to complement Mack and linebacker Sio Moore.
