The third-round running back signed his rookie contract on Tuesday, according to the team's official website.
The 5-foot-11, 206-pound Indiana product was praised by scouts for his one-cut running style, making him a strong fit for play-caller Kyle Shanahan's zone-based ground attack.
"I'm going to come in there and I'm going to get a starting spot," Coleman told reporters after the draft, per ESPN.com. "That's what I'm going to do. Whoever is the starting back, they don't have to work. I'm coming in and working right away."
