Head coach Jim Harbaugh is looking for his first win over a ranked opponent on Saturday, as his Wolverines are hosting No. 22 BYU. Prior to the game, Harbaugh took some time to meet with a former Michigan student.
The former student? Derek Jeter.
Yes, Harbaugh gave Jeter a No. 2 Wolverines jersey with Jeter's name on it.
Of course, Jeter, the future Baseball Hall of Famer, wore No. 2 during his 20-year career with the New York Yankees. Jeter grew up in Kalamazoo, Mich., and attended Michigan for a semester in the early 1990s, per the Detroit Free Press.
The Free Press reported Jeter called Michigan late last week and asked about attending the game.
Thus, we see the power of Harbaugh once again. He can draw celebrities to The Big House, and that certainly doesn't hurt as he tries to rebuild the program.
