OK, everyone has had a few days to digest how their favorite pro team fared in the draft. We decided to take a look at the "Power 5" conferences and see how they did.
Included is a listing of each "Power 5" school's number of draftees in the 2000s and their most recent first-round pick. If a player is designated with an asterisk, it means he was the earliest selection from a school that had multiple first-round picks that year.
LSU led the way with nine draftees this year. Alabama and Notre Dame had eight each, and national champion Florida State had seven. Auburn, which fell to FSU in the national title game, had four draftees.
This is a look at how the ACC performed in the 2014 NFL Draft:
» The ACC had 42 players selected, second-most among the college football conferences. It was the third time in four years that the ACC finished second.
» Every ACC school had at least one player selected, led by Florida State with seven.
» There were five first-rounders, second-most among the conferences.
» Position of interest: The ACC's most popular position was cornerback, with nine selected.

Boston College
» 28 draftees, nine first-rounders (most recent LB Luke Kuechly in 2012) | Boston College draft history
The buzz: Beginning with the 2008 draft, BC has had 12 players selected -- and five of those guys went in the first round.
Clemson
» 48 draftees, five first-rounders (most recent WR Sammy Watkins in 2014) | Clemson draft history
The buzz: Watkins, who was selected fourth, is just the third Clemson player to go in the top 10 since 1983.
Duke
» Four draftees, no first-rounders (most recent QB Dave Brown in the 1992 supplemental draft) | Duke draft history
The buzz: CB Ross Cockrell went in the fourth round this year, just the third Duke player since Brown went in the first round in the supplemental draft in 1992 to go earlier than the sixth round.
Florida State
» 84 draftees, 19 first-rounders (most recent WR Kelvin Benjamin in 2014) | Florida State draft history
The buzz: The Seminoles have had 18 players selected in the past two drafts, and half went in the top two rounds.
Georgia Tech
» 32 draftees, three first-rounders (most recent DE Derrick Morgan in 2010) | Georgia Tech draft history
The buzz: Three Yellow Jackets were taken in the 2014 draft, one more than the past three drafts combined.
Maryland
» 33 draftees, three first-rounders (most recent WR Darrius Heyward-Bey in 2009) | Maryland draft history
The buzz: Maryland has had just six players taken in the past five drafts.
Miami (Fla.)
» 86 draftees, 26 first-rounders (most recent FS Kenny Phillips in 2008) |
The buzz: The Hurricanes produced an incredible 33 first-round picks from 1995-2008, but have had no first-rounders and just two second-rounders in the past six drafts.
North Carolina
» 50 draftees, nine first-rounders (most recent TE Eric Ebron in 2014) | North Carolina draft history
The buzz: Ebron was the fifth Tar Heels player to go in the first round in the past four drafts and the seventh in the past seven drafts.
North Carolina State

The buzz: N.C. State has had just one player go earlier than the third round in the past eight drafts. The Wolfpack had one player drafted this year.
Pittsburgh
» 37 draftees, five first-rounders (most recent DT Aaron Donald in 2014) | Pittsburgh draft history
The buzz: Donald was the first Pitt defender drafted in the first round since CB Darrelle Revis in 2007 and just the second since DT Sean Gilbert in 1992.
Syracuse
Virginia

The buzz: Virginia had three players selected in the 2014 draft, the first time the school had multiple players picked since the 2009 draft.
Virginia Tech

The buzz: Fuller was the 10th first-round pick in school history (that includes the supplemental draft).
Wake Forest
» 25 draftees, two first-rounders (most recent LB Aaron Curry in 2009) | Wake Forest draft history
The buzz: No Wake player has been selected earlier than the fourth round since the 2010 draft.
