2025 NFL schedule release: International Games on NFL Network

The NFL will play its first-ever regular-season game in Dublin, Ireland on Sept. 28 when the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers square off in Week 4.

While it remains to be seen which quarterback will be leading the Steelers, Mike Tomlin's defense is poised to be an early test for a J.J. McCarthy-led offense supervised by the mastermind of Kevin O'Connell. McCarthy, who sat out his rookie season due to injury, is in good hands under O'Connell's system and with Justin Jefferson at his disposal, but protecting the 22-year-old from the likes of T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward and Alex Highsmith will be a key matchup for a revamped Vikings offensive line that is expected to feature three new starters on the interior.

Announced on Feb. 7 as the designated team for the 2025 Dublin Game, the Steelers are playing just their second international game in team history and will look to avenge a 2013 overseas defeat against a Vikings squad that bested Pittsburgh in London. The Steelers' venture into Dublin has been a long time coming, nearly 30 years after taking part in the only NFL contest ever in Ireland as part of the American Bowl exhibition series. Pittsburgh returns to Croke Park hoping to earn its first international victory.

Following the 2025 Dublin Game, the Vikings will set sail to London for a Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns in what will be the 40th regular-season game played in London.

Minnesota's second game abroad offers similar storylines against a Browns team that also lost its only international appearance at the hands of the Vikings in 2017 and, as it stands today, enters the 2025 season riddled with quarterback questions. Veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders will vie for that starting role this summer, all looking to lead a Cleveland team seemingly at a crossroads. Whoever gets the nod is set to face a fierce Vikings defensive front that was tied for fourth in sacks (49) last season and was bolstered this spring with the signings of Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave. On the other side for Cleveland, superstar defender Myles Garrett will be making his international debut after missing the Browns' London game in 2017.

It will be a rare scene on the opposing sidelines when the Broncos and Jets clash in London, as new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, who played for Sean Payton for a season in 2008, will get to face his former coach on foreign soil.

Inside the playing lines, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix will look to follow up his remarkable rookie campaign with two new weapons at his disposal in 2025 in tight end Evan Engram and rookie running back RJ Harvey. While Payton's offense with Nix at the helm got most of the attention from Denver's surprising run in 2024, the Broncos defense ultimately led its postseason charge with a league-leading 63 sacks. It's poised to be a tough test for new Jets QB Justin Fields, who aims to stabilize New York's offense. Fields finding a good rapport with Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who set the single-game reception record (13) for games in England last season, will be a key component for the Jets' cause, but lining up against Broncos cover man Patrick Surtain II, who earned the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year award, is a scintillating matchup overseas.

The league schedule will see its fourth international game in as many weeks when the Rams and Jaguars clash in London in Week 7.

Liam Coen's undertaking in Jacksonville figures to be the talk of the town during the Jaguars' annual stop in the United Kingdom. Coen, a former understudy of Sean McVay, might seek to pull out all the stops against his former boss and the rookie head coach has plenty to work with in quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who's playing behind an upgraded offensive line and throwing to a burgeoning wideout in Brian Thomas Jr.. But how Jacksonville utilizes its newest player, Travis Hunter, is perhaps the most intriguing dynamic for London's pseudo home team. The Heisman Trophy winner thrilled in college as a two-way player, and the No. 2 overall pick aims to accomplish that rare feat as a wide receiver and cornerback at the pro level. McVay, too, has a shiny new tool to use within his ever-so-steady Rams offense in Davante Adams, who joins Puka Nacua in L.A.'s passing attack.

Berlin will host its first-ever NFL regular-season game when the Falcons and Colts take the field in Week 10, the fifth consecutive year the league steps foot in Germany.

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. enters the 2025 season as Atlanta's full-fledged starter and those circumstances might prove better for the strong-armed lefty. After taking over for Kirk Cousins, Penix showed flashes of promise in his three late-season starts. The Colts saw some QB drama last season, too, and are poised for more in 2025 with Anthony Richardson and newcomer Daniel Jones set for competition this summer. Should he be the starter in Week 10, Jones' return to Germany is set up to be a fitting opportunity for the veteran who lost his job following a loss in Munich last season and prompted his unceremonious end to his Giants tenure.

The final game of the 2025 international slate will be the NFL's debut in Spain, and it's a matchup that could bring fireworks.

Coming off a storybook season with Jayden Daniels at the helm, the Commanders invested in their promising young quarterback this offseason. Deebo Samuel joins Terry McLaurin to upgrade Daniels' pass-catching arsenal and stalwart left tackle Laremy Tunsil will bolster the protection for 2024's Offensive Rookie of the Year. Meanwhile, the Dolphins saw an underwhelming 2024 season, but the cast of characters which produced an exciting offense the prior two seasons remain. Mike McDaniel's high-flying scheme returns the core of that once effective offense with Tua Tagovailoa throwing to his speedy wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. If Miami's revamped offensive line is up to the task -- especially against Washington's ferocious defensive front -- the NFL's debut in Spain could be a high-scoring affair.
