Strengths
Amaya has adequate height and a large frame. Has enough top-end speed and athleticism to be a center fielder. Played all over the secondary in college and understands coverage and assignments. Reads quickly and fills hard in run support. High-motor kid who fights to the whistle.
Weaknesses
A bit stiff in the hips, which limits his speed in transition and makes him a liability in man coverage. High-cut kid who lacks lower-body strength and can get run over by bigger blockers and ballcarriers. Does not have the ball skills necessary to make plays in the passing game.
