Turner, Norwood out, so Snelling is Falcons' starting RB vs. Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Atlanta Falcons running backs Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood are inactive for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Turner, who's fourth in the NFC in rushing with 831 yards, suffered a high ankle sprain last week against the Carolina Panthers, and Norwood will miss his fifth consecutive game with a hip flexor injury. That means Jason Snelling will start at running back for Atlanta.

Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White, questionable with a sprained knee, is active for the Falcons.

As expected, the Giants are without linebacker Antonio Pierce, who's out indefinitely with a bulging disk in his neck. Chase Blackburn will start in Pierce's place.

Giants cornerback Aaron Ross is active for the first time after missing the first nine games with a severe hamstring strain. Cornerback Kevin Dockery is inactive.
