Family emergency will keep Bills backup DE Ellis out vs. Dolphins

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills reserve defensive end Chris Ellis has been ruled out from playing in Sunday's game at Miami because of an undisclosed family emergency.

Without providing details, the Bills made the announcement in a release issued Saturday night.

Ellis' absence will further deplete an already thin defense, which will be missing four starters, including cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve Thursday. Reserve defensive tackle John McCargo also is out because of a calf injury.
