New York, New York: Rankings have a Big Apple feel

This is how the NFL's 32 teams stack up after Week 12:

In the hunt
Teams that look good enough to be among the 12 playoff qualifiers, but not based on conference.
Rank Team Record Prv. Comment
1. New York Giants 10-1 2 They've long made the argument to be on top, and now they're here, looking far better than they did in winning Super Bowl XLII.
2. N.Y. Jets 8-3 8 How about an all-New York Super Bowl?
3. Tennessee Titans 10-1 1 Maybe the burden of staying unbeaten truly was more than the Titans could handle.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers 8-3 4 The Steelers have a chance to make a statement about their place in the AFC in Foxborough.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-3 6 These guys quietly have hung around and put themselves in position to win their division, but they'll have to play much better than they did vs. Detroit.
6. Arizona Cardinals 7-4 5 The Cards have a chance to feast on some bird when many of us will be feasting on turkey sandwiches.
7. Indianapolis Colts 7-4 8 The schedule sets up the Colts to run the table.
8. Dallas Cowboys 7-4 10 With a healthy Tony Romo, they're right back in contention.
9. Baltimore Ravens 7-4 9 Although they got plenty of help from Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb, the Ravens rebounded nicely from what could have been a psychologically crushing loss to the Giants.
10. Atlanta Falcons 7-4 -- Matt Ryan's story continues to be amazing, but the driving force behind the Falcons' success is Michael Turner's tough and effective running..
11. Washington Redskins 7-4 11 It was a little too much of a struggle vs. the hapless Seahawks … and it won't get any easier vs. the Giants.
12. New England Patriots 7-4 12 Another 400-yard game and more $$$$ for Matt Cassel.
