Dak on Cowboys in prime time: 'We're America's Team'

When the Cowboys meet the Giants on Sunday Night Football this weekend, it will mark the second of four consecutive weeks Dallas will be in prime time this month.

People might complain of Cowboys overload, but the truth is that Dallas moves the needle. In a season where the NFL has had issues with ratings, the Cowboys remain a sure thing. You think the Buccaneersgot flexed into *SNF* next week because Lavonte David has a tremendous nose for the football?

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has a simple explanation for all of the showcase games.

"We're America's Team. I feel like everybody wants to see us play," Prescott said this week, according to The Dallas Morning News. "It's exciting. I feel like the Cowboys are always on prime time, but to be in the position we're in, winning like we are, playing the way we are, it makes for better football."

Ah, America's Team. It's a nickname that sticks in the craw of Cowboys haters across the country. Incredulity is strained by the team's two-decade Super Bowl absence, but that could be about to change.

Sure, you might be sick of seeing the Cowboys by the end of this season. But you have to admit the league is a little more fun when they're a power player.
