Nick Saban still determining playing status of Cam Robinson

Alabama coach Nick Saban is still mulling over the playing status of offensive tackle Cam Robinson, and hasn't closed the door on the possibility that Robinson, one of college football's top offensive linemen, will play for the Crimson Tide this fall.

"It's the first time Cam has ever had an issue or a problem," Saban told ESPN on Wednesday. "We're handling it and managing it internally, and making him do things to hopefully change his behavior. I'm waiting to see how this whole legal thing plays out, because it's not really what it seems to be."

Robinson and Alabama defensive back Laurence "Hootie" Jones were arrested on May 17. They were booked on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of narcotics. Robinson also faces a felony charge of illegal possession of stolen firearms.

Robinson -- who is entering his junior season -- has been a full-time starter at left tackle for the Crimson Tide in each of his previous two seasons with the team. Robinson is highly thought of as a prospect, and is the No. 13-ranked player in college football, according to NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter.
