Ryan asks Bills fans to make life miserable for Luck

Rex Ryan is reaching into his bag of tricks with one of the best quarterbacks in football coming to town.

Every game, all season

The Bills coach used part of his meeting with the media on Wednesday as a rally cry for fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium to make life difficult for Colts quarterback Andrew Luck in Sunday's season opener.

"We have to make it miserable when people come in here," Ryan said, via syracuse.com. "I'm calling our fans out. We need you. This guy is the No. 1 fantasy quarterback for this week. He's the play. He's the go-to-guy. Everybody wants him. But we have to make it challenging for him, and we will with our defense and all that.

"We're going to make it as challenging as we possible, can but it can only be added by our fans. When our defense is on the field, I can't wait to see our fans."

This is not new territory for Ryan. Before his first home game as Jets coach in 2009, Ryan recorded a 70-second message that was sent to every Jets season-ticket holder ahead of a matchup against the Patriots.

The Jets won that game, and the Meadowlands crowd was indeed raucous. We don't imagine Bills fans will need much motivation to scream their lungs out on Sunday, but Ryan's pep talk can't hurt.
