At least one person is ready for the Mett Show to continue in 2015.
Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury sustained in last week's loss to the Giants, thinks he's earned the right to be Tennessee's starter next year.
"I believe I've shown them enough. ... I'm confident in my abilities in what I've put on the field and put on tape. I think I've show the ownership and Ruston (Webster), the GM, and the staff that I can play at a high level and that I'm gonna continue to get better," Mettenberger said, via 24/7 Sports.
Right now, the Titans hold the No. 2 pick in the draft, which would put them in prime position for a great quarterback, should Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston declare eligible. However, the Titans have so many needs across their offensive line and on defense, that it might make sense to listen to Mettenberger, their sixth-round pick from 2013.
It might be enough to convince whoever is making the decisions in Nashville to give the rookie one more year.
