One more down, and one big one left to go.
The SEC Network announced an agreement Friday with Comcast Cable for carriage of the fledgling network less than a month before its launch, which will put 24-hour SEC programming in an additional 46 million homes.
Having already reached carriage agreements with Dish Network, AT&T U-Verse, Cox and Google Fiber, the network is continuing negotiations with DirecTV, as well as some other regional carriers. However, the DirecTV deal, would go a long way toward completing the puzzle nationally for the SEC Network, which is a collaborative effort between college football's premiere league and ESPN.
The network will launch Aug. 14 and will feature more than 1,000 live SEC events in its first year, including 45 football games this fall.
