The handful of veteran Florida Gators who were recruited by and, in some cases, played for former coach Urban Meyer before his awkward departure from UF had a close eye on the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night, and there is no question about whom they were rooting for. Meyer, you may recall, announced his resignation from UF for health reasons shortly after losing the 2009 SEC Championship Game to Alabama, then said he would stay but take a leave of absence, then ultimately resigned for good later that year. Citing health reasons again, Meyer spent a few months as a college football analyst at ESPN before taking the job at Ohio State.
Meyer, it seems, isn't viewed upon in good favor in Gainesville. After Meyer and Ohio State lost a shot at that BCS Championship Game with a loss to Michigan State, wide receiver Quinton Dunbar, a fourth-year junior, tweeted: "lol lets see if Urban Meyer play sick again. #Unloyal"

Suffice it to say, they won't be erecting any statues of Urban around Ben-Hill Griffin Stadium any time soon. At least not with a crowd of his former players in support.
Meyer, meanwhile, takes a two-year record of 24-1 at Ohio State into the offseason without a championship to show for it.
