It's been a tough enough season for Mississippi State as it is, so a kick in the shin wasn't exactly what Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott needed Monday.

But that's exactly what he got, he says, and the mystery attacker, presumably a fellow student, ran away and escaped identification. This from the official blog of Mississippi State athletics, hailstatebeat: "He was walking down engineering row on campus near the health center, eyes down as he texted on the phone, when he saw someone nearby him walk right next to him and stop moving. As Dak's eyes glanced upward, the stranger kicked him in the left shin and ran off."
Prescott, a dangerous dual-threat quarterback who has been a bright spot for the Bulldogs offense this season, reportedly called for the perpetrator to stop, to no avail.
"It was a pretty good kick, too," Prescott said. "I mean, it hurt."
Prescott isn't injured and it won't affect his playing status this week. MSU visits South Carolina this week. And Prescott, presumably, will get better treatment from Gamecocks fans on the road Saturday that he got from one at home on Monday.
