TCU unveils alternate uniforms for opener against LSU

TCU head coach Gary Patterson accidentally left LSU fans seeing red earlier this summer, but the Horned Frogs hope to do it on purpose next Saturday by wearing new all-black alternate uniforms with red accents for their season opener against the Tigers at AT&T Stadium.

The new look, unveiled Friday afternoon, features one red stripe on each side of the helmet, red striping on the palms of gloves, and red highlights on the cleats, inspired by the horned frog's ability to spit blood from its eyes as a defense mechanism.

The football Horned Frogs will be without one of their top defensive mechanisms for the game, as Freshman All-America defensive end Devonte Fields begins serving a two-game suspension for violating team rules.
