Randy Starks is ready to come to work for the Miami Dolphins.
The Miami Herald reported Tuesday that the veteran defensive tackle will be in attendance when the Dolphins begin mandatory minicamp workouts Tuesday.
Starks signed his $8.45 million franchise tender with the Dolphins in March, and has been seeking a long-term contract with the team. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported in April that the plan for Starks always was to attend mandatory minicamp. According to the Herald, Starks would be docked $66,000 in pay if he sat out the team's three workouts this week.
Starks might find himself in competition for a starting role. Jared Odrick shifted inside and received first-team reps alongside Paul Soliai during organized team activities. The camp development of rookie Dion Jordan and Olivier Vernon ultimately might impact Starks' role as well.
