Much has been made about Andrew Luck already being familiar with the new offense being installed by Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton.
How the elder statesman in the group, Reggie Wayne, will take to learning another new offense is a less-discussed storyline.
Going from Tom Moore's offense to Bruce Arians' stretch passing game last season appeared seamless for Wayne, who nabbed 106 passes for 1,355 yards in 2012. The transition into Hamilton's 'Don't call it West Coast' offense is a different learning process.
"It's going to take some time," Wayne said Wednesday, per the team's official website. "(It's) new terminology. So far, so good."
Traditionally, Wayne has spent the majority of his offseason at the University of Miami training with the U-crew, but learning new offenses the past two seasons has necessitated a different kind of regimen. On Wednesday, Wayne returned to the facility for organized team activities in advance of next week's minicamp.

"I'm kind of in a tough situation learning a new offense, as you can tell," Wayne said. "Last year I was here a little bit more than I normally would be. This year I wasn't (here) as much as last year. I'm at home studying.
"Whenever I'm watching film at home and I feel like it's getting kind of weird to me a little bit, I need to come hear Andrew call a play, hear Pep call a play and sit in a couple meetings and just hear all the terminology. That's part of the reason why I'm here."
Offenses keep changing and Wayne keeps producing. Hamilton has said he will incorporate several different types of schemes, all of which will utilize Wayne's ability to get open in tight spaces and make tough catches. While the progress of other Colts receivers might take a few targets away, any lowering in Wayne's numbers this season shouldn't have anything to do with fitting into a new offense.Â
