Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson, head-to-head

Chris Johnson told NFL Network last week he wanted to rush for more yards than Adrian Peterson in 2013. And naturally, Peterson didn't take kindly to those remarks.

And we've got a new rivalry!

A match at WrestleMania XXIX likely isn't in the cards for these two titans of the gridiron. So the only way to settle their differences is to take them to the grid!

And without further ado ...

Player Adrian Peterson Chris Johnson Give it to ...
Height/weight: 6-1, 217 5-11, 191 Push
College: Oklahoma East Carolina Peterson
Comic book character he could relate to: Wolverine The Flash Push
Initial driven nickname: A.D. CJ2K Johnson. Mostly because many of you insist on calling him A.P., which is just wrong.
Self-glossed nickname: MVPeterson (from the tweet above) Every Coach's Dream Peterson. If you aren't familiar with Johnson's attempt at ECD, look at this tweet. Via. Notice it garnered only three "favorites." Come on, dude.
Always dapper (get it, A.D. is also always dapper?)

Bought his first suit for his NFL Network appearance last week.
Johnson. He got dressed up for us, after all.
What was his 40 time: 4.38 4.24 Johnson
Is he proud of that 40 time? I guess? Hell, yes Johnson. Why not? He's the fastest man in the NFL right now.
Pre-draft comparison: Eric Dickerson David Meggett Peterson. You think I'm kidding about this? Check it out right here.
Chip on his shoulder: Not going No. 1 overall Not being the first running back selected Push
Team that should have drafted him: Raiders Raiders Push. Although, if the Raiders drafted Peterson the year before, they wouldn't have needed Johnson. I've given myself a lot to think about.
Who'd they take instead? JaMarcus Russell Darren McFadden Johnson. Wait, who does get the edge there? It's hard to say, I guess.
Best season: 2,097 rushing yards in 2012 2,006 rushing yards in 2009 Peterson. Both went over 2,000 rushing yards, sure. But Peterson rushed for more. Do I really have to explain this?
Hardware that season: MVP Offensive player of the year Peterson. Offensive player of the year seems like a made-up award. Like when I would win "most spirited" in Little League. You're either the MVP or not.
Super Bowl title? No No Push
Who's he relying on to help get him there? Christian Ponder Jake Locker Neither
Where did you draft him in your fantasy leagues last year? Third round End of the first round Peterson
How'd that work out for you? Won your league! Not so much Peterson. I will say this. I had A.D. in the one league I lost last year, and I won a league with Johnson. But that can't be the norm.
Meme alert: Orange peanut! Bongo drums (about two minutes in) Peterson.

You knew Peterson was going to win this one. Don't be surprised.
