Redskins wideout Josh Morgan healing after surgeries

Despite having surgery on his right ankle and both hands in January, Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan didn't attend a charity event in a full body cast Wednesday.

"Basically, the whole year, I was playing with two torn ligaments in both hands," Morgan told The Washington Post. "So they corrected that and got all that stuff straight."

Morgan had a plate and seven screws removed from his surgically-repaired right ankle and the ligaments repaired the same week. He has been rehabbing with Robert Griffin III at Redskins Park. He didn't walk with a limp and had full use of his hands Wednesday, according to the report.

The fifth-year pro suffered a broken ankle with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011 and never was fully healthy in his first year with the Redskins.

Morgan had 48 receptions for 510 yards, but he struggled down the stretch of the season when his hands were taped like a boxer, he told the Post.

The Redskins need a playmaker on the outside to complement Pierre Garcon, who was RG3's most dynamic receiver last season. Whether a healthy Morgan can play that role remains a question mark.
