Aaron Maybin signed by Cincinnati Bengals

Another NFL team will try to convert Maybin in "Mayhem."

The Cincinnati Bengalsannounced Friday they have signed veteran linebacker Aaron Maybin. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

This will be Maybin's third team since being selected by the Buffalo Bills as the No. 11 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. After washing out in Orchard Park, Maybin caught on with the New York Jets in 2011 and experienced a modest career resurgence with six sacks as a situational pass rusher.

Emboldened by Maybin's seemingly found promise, Rex Ryan predicted during training camp that Maybin would have a much bigger role on the Jets' defense this season. Instead, he had one tackle in eight games before he was quietly released on Nov. 13.

Maybin, 24, joins a Bengals defense that finished this season with 51 sacks, just one behind the Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams for the most in the NFL. If Maybin sticks around, he adds some depth to an already productive line.
