New York Jets coach Rex Ryan and general manager Mike Tannenbaum can open any local newspaper to find out they're on the hot seat. Or they can have a meeting with their boss.
Bob Glauber of Newsday reports that Jets owner Woody Johnson held a meeting Tuesday with all the key team personnel: Tannenbaum, president Neil Glat, offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine and special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff.

The meeting was described as "calm and constructive" by a team spokesman. But it is out of the ordinary. The meeting took place only one day before backup quarterback Tim Tebow was ripped by anonymous players in the New York Daily News.
"Let me tell you something about anonymous guys," Johnson said this week. "Anybody that's anonymous has no credibility. Anonymous people don't speak for the New York Jets. They really don't."
The Tebow controversy only furthers the feeling the inmates are running the asylum in New York. That doesn't bode well for Tannenbaum, who's in charge of picking the inmates.
"We've never gone for broke here," Tannenbaum told Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. "We've never mortgaged multiple picks to win now. That's not what we believe in. We believe in a systematic approach to win every year. In no year do we put more eggs into one basket."
Cimini points out the Jets have tied for the lowest number of draft picks since 2009 in the NFL and have struggled to add talent over the last few years.
