Pittsburgh Steelers' standouts could return vs. Eagles

No team is more desperate for a win this week than the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the first time all year, they will look like the Pittsburgh Steelers we've watched over the last decade.

Kinkhabwala: Real Steel

It's been a quiet start to the season in Pittsburgh, but Aditi Kinkhabwala says we're about to see the real Steelers. **More ...**

The team listed running back Rashard Mendenhall, safety Troy Polamalu, and linebacker James Harrison as "probable" for Sunday's game against the Eagles. That means they are by definition "virtually certain" to play.

The larger question: How close to normal will the three stars be? Mendenhall will try to help one of the league's worst rushing attacks. Polamalu and Harrison should help apply pressure for a lackluster pass rush. Pittsburgh also hasn't stopped the run, which is very un-Pittsburgh like.

Perhaps the return of these three stars will fix the team. If not, it will be fair to wonder if the old Steelers are coming back this year.
