Greg Little slims down by getting off cupcake diet

Greg Little had a typical rookie season for a talented player.

The Cleveland Browns wideout flashed big-time ability but was wildly inconsistent with a number of drops. He also knew he needed work on the little things, like nutrition.

Little has lost 11 pounds heading into his second season after a conversation with Browns coach Pat Shurmur. We usually try to avoid the "best shape of his life" stories, but we liked how Little lost weight.

"Every Thursday, (linebacker) Chris Gocong's wife would make cupcakes, so I'd eat about seven to 10 and the guys would get on me about that," Little said, via the Akron Beacon-Journal. "So that's one of the things that I definitely cut out."

It's a good lesson for anyone out there trying to shed a few pounds: Do not eat seven to 10 cupcakes in one sitting.

"I've seen him look a lot quicker, a lot more sudden, and I think to this point he has caught the ball at a much more consistent rate and he just looks like a different guy to me," Shurmur said.

The Plain Dealer has gone as far as to call Little a Pro Bowl candidate. We're not fully buying the hype just yet, but Little could be a 1,000-yard receiver and excellent fantasy-football value in his second season.
