Parcells doesn't deny interest in Saints

It's so great to have Bill Parcells back in the news, even if it's only for a few days.

With reports circulating that Parcells is under consideration for the Saints' head coaching job, Parcells spoke from a Mets spring training game on Monday. The man that made the phrase "it is what it is" famous didn't confirm or deny the reports.

"Everything is hypothetical at this point," Parcells responded when asked about interest in the Saints job, according to David Lennon of Newsday.

That's not a denial. And this isn't the Big Tuna's first rodeo.

Parcells confirmed that he talked to Sean Payton about the Saints situation "when it first happened." When asked if they spoke specifically about the head coaching job, Parcells responded, "Not really."

Of course, Payton might have gauged Parcells' interest without offering the job. No one is reporting that the Saints are ready to hand the keys over to Parcells.

We don't think it is a good idea for Parcells to return to the sideline. Parcells might not think it's a good idea either, but he knows that it doesn't hurt to keep his options open at this point.

That's just Parcells being Parcells.
