And now a sneak peak into the tragic problems of beautiful people.
As you might remember, Laura Kaeppeler -- better known as Miss America -- earned headlines when she identified herself during the famous pageant as a Packers fan before adding, "If you're watching, Aaron Rodgers, call me."
Kaeppeler was representing Wisconsin, making the reference to the star quarterback an effective ode to her home state. Rodgers told ESPN Radio on Tuesday he was bombarded with texts after Kaeppeler's shoutout, leading him to follow the pageant online as he "watched" the Patriots-Broncos playoff game.
"So eventually I clicked over," Rodgers said, "and actually I clicked over when it was down to the top five and was amazed as it went four, she's still up there. Three, she's still up there. Two, she's still up there. Is she really going to win this thing? And then, sure enough, she did. So I've got to give her a lot of credit for that.
"That's quite an accomplishment. A whole year of getting to do all of that Miss America stuff. That's exciting for Wisconsin, the one bright spot over the weekend."
Kaeppeler, 23, was a guest this week on "The Wendy Williams Show" -- being referenced here for the first and last time on NFL.com -- where she informed us a) she was joking (kind of) and b) Rodgers hasn't reached out.
"It was really just my way of being humorous," Kaeppeler said, "but he hasn't called yet."
