1992 NFC Championship

Cowboys 30, 49ers 20
San Francisco -- Jan. 17, 1993 -- San Francisco had won four Super Bowls in the 1980s with Joe Montana at quarterback, and now wanted to establish its dominance in the '90s with Steve Young behind center. Young had guided the 49ers to a 14-2 regular-season mark and was poised to take his team to the big game, but along came a 13-3 Dallas squad that featured fiery head coach Jimmy Johnson and plenty of attitude. The Cowboys' defense collected four takeaways, while quarterback Troy Aikman threw for 322 yards and Emmitt Smith ran for 114 yards, to engineer this road win.

In Super Bowl XXVII, Dallas beat Buffalo for its first of three titles in a four-year span.
