Saints sign former Colts LB Humber, waive rookie QB Canfield

METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints announced Wednesday that they have signed linebacker Ramon Humber and released rookie third-string quarterback Sean Canfield.

Humber's signing came one week after reserve linebacker Stanley Arnoux went on injured reserve because of a ruptured right Achilles' tendon.

Humber is a second-year pro out of North Dakota State who last season was a special-teams regular for the Indianapolis Colts. He also started the Colts' final two regular-season games while the team rested a number of regulars for the playoffs.

Canfield, a seventh-round draft pick out of Oregon State, has been on and off the Saints' active or practice-squad rosters this season as space permitted.
