Quick Take: Morris shines in Hawks' RB battle

What we learned ...

Maurice Morris gets the start. Morris is embattled with Julius Jones to be the No. 1 running back and got off to a blazing start by rushing for 62 yards on six attempts -- including a 21-yard run. Jones rushed for 15 yards on four attempts.

Seahawks offense efficient early. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck led the Seahawks on two scoring drives to open the game. Hasselbeck completed 7-of-8 passes for 70 yards and capped the opening drive with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Kent.

Vikings committed to throwing the ball. The Vikings opened the game by throwing the football in their first seven plays over two drives. Tarvaris Jackson completed 5-of-7 passes for 71 yards and got the Vikings on the board with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Tapeh.

Justin Forsett hard to ignore. The 5-foot-8 running back from Cal was drafted in the seventh round and is a long-shot to make the team with Morris, Jones and T.J. Duckett. Forsett rushed for 58 yards and could make the team if he can perform on special teams.
